Tin Man

There is a man I used to know
He was so sweet and true.
Then this man revealed to me
He’s nothing that I knew.

This man had changed on a dime
My heart it’s grown so blue.
I loved this man with all my heart
And love him, I still do.

My love has changed for this man
My love for him has flew.
No longer do I love him
The way that I once knew.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love him with a super love
That comes from deep within.
The kind of love that God does give
Because we’re all with sin.
I love him cause God told me to
Though his heart is cold as tin.
I love him more and more each day
In spite of where his mind’s been.
I know that man that I once knew
Is somewhere in that skin.
Somewhere deep inside that heart
This new guy made turn tin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know that if he listens
Christ will set him free
From this bondage of his sins
He must do so faithfully.

I’m hopeful God will mold him
To the man he’s meant to be.
And I know we’re meant to suffer
Something much greater than we.

God has us in this time of life
His hand’s cradling though we can’t see.
He loves us so and wants this man
To love his kids and me.
